When we were first introduced to the Taley brand of handbags back in 2010, we knew that it was something special. After a few years of watching the brand and the designer Miss Taley (Dyontalee Turnquest) grow, we can only see great things in the brand’s future. The ladies of taley continue to support the vision to offer premium quality, stylish, durable, 100% leather goods to all people from all facets of life. We sat down with the designer and brand ambassador Dyontalee to talk about her inspiration and where her and the brand will be in the next few years.
What inspired you design handbags?
A love for high fashion along with a desire to make it available to the av- erage woman, Being a teacher, I un- derstand that money may not always be accessible for high end fashion but with Taley I sought to make this perception a folktale. LOL
Unlike other hand bag companies in the country you avoided the straw work …. why was that?
I thought about it you know! But, My goal was to go in a different direction! Mind you, straw is absolutely gorgeous but it does not have longevity that fits into what I wanted for the compa- ny. For me leather allows more fun with design. The possibili- ties are endless.
If someone was to ask you to describe Taley ® in one word … what would it be and why?
One word…. EXTRAORDINARY!!! Taley offers, color, style, and quality.. And guess what? It’s affordable…LOL
Now you are a fancy lady yourself … were these designer bags fashioned for you ?
Of course,Taley is taken from the latter part of my name (Dyontalee) so Taley is me! I consider myself a stylish, versatile, strong woman exactly like my mother and business partner so what better way to fashion my bags? I love everything I design! I study what’s hot and I think of ways to make what’s hot, on fire and here comes a Taley bag! LOL
What’s is Taley® planning for 2012 ?
2012 for taley will bring new designs and products… we want to do some-thing more for men We currently offer overnight and tablet bags and what better way to expand than with a wal-let? More involvement In charity events is also priority this year. We plan to have stronger media presence this year. Also, we plan to expand shipment and delivery through our website www. taleybahamas .com and the opening of the taley boutique. And of course, the annual showing at the Tarpum bay Homecoming along with the taley soi-ree in December.
