Newcomer to the fashion business Kristen Cartwright proves that she is the one to watch when it comes to custom swimwear here in The Bahamas. With the launch of her Island Rebel line last night at the National Art Gallery she has caught the eye of many who were not aware of the designers swimsuit creation prowess. With a line that includes over 15 different swimsuit designs Kristen says she feels the line represents her yearning to be different and create a line that ‘rebels’ against the norms of what people feel a swimsuit should look like. The fashion show was well received by all who were there and patrons were excited to get their hands on custom suits by the designer. Kristen who has only been designing and sewing her swimsuits for a little over a year says she is happy with the showing and is already dreaming up designs for her third line.
