We caught up with Wendi recently to ask about this super soca nomination, here’s what she said:
I am so excited about this nomination in the most whimsical and delicious way! The nod fell into my lap, almost literally. To be among artists that I truly do respect and am a fan of, it’s quite an amazing and surreal emotion, pleasure and honor.
Wendi says she found out about her nomination at a local performance recently, when an industry friend ran up to her telling her that someone was looking for her.
He called the person and handed me the phone and the guy on the phone said, ‘I was just trying to get your contact!’ He said his name was Colin Jackman and that he was calling from the annual International Soca Awards and that they’d been trying to reach out to me for the past few days through my Facebook. But you know it was carnival time so I wasn’t really checking my messages! And that’s when he told me about the nomination!
Now here’s where you come in! Team Bahamas, Wendi needs your votes!
