After being selected as the first winner of the National Independence Recording Artists Search Competition last July, winner Shenia Roberts got straight to work to deliver her debut single “Motivation”.
Having been chosen from about 80 participants and six finalists in last year’s competition, Shenia was awarded some studio time with legendary Bahamian producer and singer Sammi Starr and the pair was able to put together a beautiful duet along with one of the 242’s new Hip Hop voices Sleepy Lexx.
Shenia’s voice is definitely a stand out! Her strong and distinct vocals cut through the track and announce her presence on the 242’s music scene. We are giving this first effort the thumbs up, but are more excited for the possibilities of this voice here on the island and then the world!
