Although at this moment in time there is not much noise in the market about this year’s Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival due to the government’s focus on the upcoming election, the local bands are not wasting anytime when it comes to releasing their 2017 looks. One of the biggest Junkanoo Carnival Bands “The Bahamas Masqueraders” launched their season this past Friday with a reveal event at their band camp.
The band unlike the two previous years has strayed away from usual color palette and has brought some light but still vibrant colors along with their signature feather plumes to the road. The big surprise though was with some of the costume designs that now incorporate a full swimsuit bodice for the ladies who do not want the bikini look!
The band unveiled 5 sections and according to their Facebook are working with the 2017 theme “The People Want Water”: Are you ready for the Big Splash. The costumes will soon be available for viewing on their website and social media pages!
