The Caribbean has been responsible for producing some of the world’s most beautiful faces in the modeling and Fashion industry and The Bahamas’ has as of late been producing some of the most exotic looks in the region. Kendra Beneby is yet another of the 6ft stunners who is making her way to the top of the pile and after recently winning the title of the Supermodel of The Bahamas she is ready to place her beauty on the world’s stage for the 242
eLIFE 242: Well first off tell us how does it feel to have won the SuperModel of the Bahamas competition?
Kendra Beneby(KB): It feels great to know that hard work and determination always rewards you in the end. I’m excited and proud of myself.
eLIFE 242: What initially interested you in modeling ?(I mean despite the fact that you 6ft tall ?)
KB: For as long as I can remember. I have pictures of myself at three years old striking a pose. My mother and aunts like to dress my sister and I up and take pictures of us, so I guess that sparked the interest from them. Yes I am pretty tall, (laughs) but I love the camera and most definitely love the runway.
eLIFE 242: Are you working on getting signed with a major agency ?
KB: Yes I am definitely working on getting signed to a major agency. I’m actually planning a trip to New York to go in to a couple of agencies. We’ll see what happens.
eLIFE 242: If you could be photographed for your dream campaign, what would it be ?
KB: I think a cool campaign would be doing a superhero vs. villains shoot starring myself. I think we can be our biggest enemy sometimes so it would be cool to portray that in a shoot, plus I look awesome in tights lol
eLIFE 242: Which Super model out there do you look up to ( you know except Tyra) ?
KB: Well EVERYONE’S favorite super model is Tyra lol, but I love Alek Wek. I think she’s definitely made her mark in the modeling industry as a black model. She had to leave her home and everything she knew behind for a better life. She’s over thirty now and still going strong, plus she’s so beautiful. I hope my career goes as well as hers has.
eLIFE 242: Where do you see Kendra in the next 3 years in the Industry ?
Well well well lol, in the next 3 years I can honestly say I see myself successfully perched on top of the world lol. I’m going to be successful, I’m sure of that.
