From behind the scenes to the main stage, Bahamian musician ZAAFiRA is stepping out of the shadows and putting out music of her own. She recently released the visuals to what’s sure to be a summer banger.
Her debut single “STUPiD GiRL” is now streaming on YouTube.
ZAAFiRA says STUPiD GiRL is an alternative pop song whose track was created by international producer, Vocirus.
“The song touches on the topics of self-hatred and the opposing self-love, while the music video, directed by ZAAFiRA herself, and shot by Creed Films Media- portrays the human capacity to figuratively kill the worst parts of ourselves, to grow and learn from even the worst mistakes & to emerge a new person.”
ZAAFiRA is a singer, songwriter who has worked behind the scenes in the industry since 2013. She has deep roots in the Bahamian music industry, coming from a line of musicians starting with her cousin, world renowned Bahamian musician Joseph Spence. She has co-written songs made famous
by artists like Julien Believe & Dyson Knight. After making the decision to go mainstream, she has since teamed up with Rock Sound Records to record her first single, and many projects to come.
“This has been such a long time coming, I’m excited but anxious to finally release my first official project. Consider this a tiny glimpse of what goes on in the crazy head of mine.”- ZAAFiRA
The song is also getting rave reviews from some heavy hitters in the local music scene.
“I think STUPiD GiRL is a brilliant song. I love the fact that the video is portrayed in a 3rd person POV!”
– Chase Fernander, Recording Artist
“This song has a very powerful message that can be translated in so many ways, the vocals we’re awesome, smooth and paints a visual picture to the listener. …I can hear [the] heart poured into this single! I give it two thumbs up! Great job.” – Johnny Cake, Recording Artist
